CRICKET CLUB
WOMEN'S COACHING
Present
Women’s cricket is one of the worlds fastest growing female sports. In Austria, we have helped clubs establish women’s teams in Vienna and Graz, built a league and are continuing to encourage more girls and women to start playing cricket.
Our women’s teams have organized and participated in numerous friendly tournaments in Austria and Germany. In recent years, the women’s league games in Austria have been taking place and are expected to evolve in the future.
At international level, our Austrian Women’s National Team has played multiple friendlies against other countries from all over Europe since 2016. In 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) status. The national team played their first WT20I matches in 2019 in a Women’s T20I Quadrangular Series in Nantes, France.
In August 2020, during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the national team played a five-match bilateral Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) series against Germany, which was broadcasted live by the “European Cricket Network”.
We are looking forward to more national and international tournaments in 2021, despite the ongoing pandemic.
The women’s teams are all diverse and multi-lingual groups of individuals. We are always looking for new players, at all ages and no matter your ability. Apart from meeting inspiring girls and women, you will have the opportunity to train regularly, improve your skills and play matches. This will be done in an indoor hall during the winter season and over the summer period outdoors.
