Open League Season came to an end with an exciting match
On a chilly afternoon at the Vienna Cricket Ground, Austria CC Wien faced off against Cricketer CC in a tightly contested match. In the end, ACC came out on top, winning by 43 runs to win the ACA 2022 OL Championshi
ACC won the toss and decided to bat first. They got off to a strong start, with Rayhaan Muhammad Ahamed scoring a brilliant 113 runs off 97 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes. Shivam Subhash also contributed with 41 runs before retiring. Despite the loss of a couple of early wickets, ACC managed to put up a strong total of 224 runs, thanks to solid performances from Rayhan, Shivam, Navin Wijesekera (25 runs) and Satyam Subhash (21 runs not out).
CCC’s run chase got off to a slow start, with Bilal Mohammad Zalmai and Basheer Ahmad Zari falling early. However, Baseer Khan and Shadnan Afridi Khan put up a good fight, scoring 35 and 43 runs respectively. But ACCW’s bowlers, led by Satyam Subhash (3 wickets) and Karun Rajesh Khanna (2 wickets), were able to apply pressure and pick up wickets at regular intervals, ultimately restricting CCC to 181 runs.
ACC will be pleased with their all-around performance, with solid contributions with both bat and ball. CCC will have to regroup and come back stronger next year.
